Description
Bonjela Junior Gel – 15g
Bonjela Junior Gel is a soothing oral gel specially formulated for children aged 5 months and above. It provides fast relief from the pain and discomfort of mouth ulcers, teething, and sore gums.
⸻
How It Works
The active ingredient, choline salicylate, belongs to a group of medicines called salicylates. It works by reducing pain and inflammation in the affected area of the mouth, helping to soothe soreness and ease discomfort quickly when applied directly to the gums or ulcer.
⸻
Directions for Use
Apply a small amount of gel to the affected area of the mouth using a clean fingertip or cotton bud. Gently massage in with a circular motion. Do not apply more frequently than every 3 hours. The amount used will depend on the child’s age — refer to the patient information leaflet for full age-specific dosing guidance. This gel is suitable for children aged 5 months and above; it is not recommended for use in children under 5 months. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

• Do not use if the child is already taking other products containing salicylates
⸻
Interactions
Bonjela Junior Gel is applied topically in small amounts, so significant drug interactions are unlikely. However, caution is advised if the child is also taking other salicylate-containing products, as this may increase the risk of side effects. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Bonjela Junior Gel is intended for use in children aged 5 months and above and is not typically used by adults. However, if a pregnant or breastfeeding individual is considering using this product, caution is advised as salicylates should generally be avoided during pregnancy, particularly in the third trimester. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
