How It Works
Dandruff is often caused by an overgrowth of a naturally occurring fungus on the scalp called Malassezia. Ketoconazole works by disrupting the cell membrane of this fungus, stopping it from growing and reducing the flaking, itching, and irritation associated with dandruff.
⸻
Directions for Use
For treatment of dandruff, apply the shampoo to wet hair and scalp, lather, leave for 3–5 minutes, then rinse off. Use twice a week for 2–4 weeks. For prevention of dandruff, use once every 1–2 weeks. This shampoo is suitable for adults and children aged 12 years and over. It is not recommended for children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.
⸻

⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
When used topically as a shampoo, systemic absorption of ketoconazole is minimal. However, as a precaution, avoid prolonged or excessive use during pregnancy or whilst breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
