What is pregabalin?
Pregabalin is used for nerve (neuropathic) pain, generalised anxiety and epilepsy. It is a controlled medicine, so it must be taken exactly as prescribed.
Brands and strengths
Pregabalin is the name of the active ingredient. In the UK it is sold as generic pregabalin and under brand names including Lyrica, Lecaent and Rewisca — all contain the same active ingredient and work the same way. Common strengths:

How to take pregabalin
Usually taken twice a day, with or without food. It is a controlled medicine — take exactly as prescribed and do not stop suddenly, as this can cause withdrawal effects. Always follow your prescriber’s instructions (BNF).
Side effects
