Description
Nurofen Express Max Strength 400mg – 20 Liquid Capsules
Nurofen Express Max Strength 400mg Liquid Capsules contain ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve mild to moderate pain and reduce inflammation. They are suitable for adults and young people aged 12 and over for conditions such as headaches, migraine, dental pain, period pain, muscular aches, and back pain.
⸻
How It Works
Ibuprofen works by blocking the production of prostaglandins — natural chemicals in the body that trigger pain, fever, and inflammation. The liquid-filled capsule formulation is designed to be absorbed quickly into the bloodstream, helping to provide faster pain relief compared to standard ibuprofen tablets.
⸻
Directions for Use
Adults and young people aged 12 and over: take one 400mg capsule up to three times a day as needed. Leave at least four to six hours between doses. Do not take more than three capsules (1,200mg) in any 24-hour period. Swallow the capsules whole with a full glass of water. Taking them with food or milk may help to reduce stomach discomfort. This medicine is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

Interactions
Ibuprofen may interact with a number of medicines, including blood thinners (e.g. warfarin), aspirin, other NSAIDs, certain blood pressure medicines (e.g. ACE inhibitors, diuretics), lithium, methotrexate, and some antidepressants (e.g. SSRIs). Taking ibuprofen with other NSAIDs or corticosteroids increases the risk of stomach problems. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Ibuprofen should not be taken during the third trimester of pregnancy as it may harm the unborn baby. Use during the first and second trimesters should be avoided unless considered essential by a doctor, as it may affect fertility and carries some risk to the developing baby. Ibuprofen passes into breast milk in small amounts and is generally considered unsuitable during breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
Drinking alcohol whilst taking ibuprofen may increase the risk of stomach irritation and gastrointestinal bleeding. It is advisable to avoid or limit alcohol consumption whilst using this medicine, particularly if you are taking it regularly.
