Description
Laxido Orange Sachets (Sugar Free) – 30 Sachets
Laxido Orange is a sugar-free laxative used to treat constipation and faecal impaction in adults and children aged 12 and over. Each sachet contains macrogol 3350, which works gently to soften stools and encourage regular bowel movements, with a pleasant orange flavour to make it easier to take.
⸻
How It Works
Laxido Orange contains macrogol 3350, a type of osmotic laxative. It works by drawing water into the bowel from the body, which softens hardened stools and makes them easier to pass. Unlike some laxatives, macrogol is not absorbed into the body and works locally within the gut.
⸻
Directions for Use
For constipation in adults and children aged 12 and over, the usual dose is 1 to 3 sachets per day, dissolved in water (125 ml per sachet). For faecal impaction in adults, up to 8 sachets may be taken within a 6-hour period on a single day, but only under medical supervision. Each sachet should be dissolved in approximately half a glass (125 ml) of water and taken as directed. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.
⸻

Interactions
Macrogol laxatives are not widely known to interact with other medicines; however, they may affect the absorption of some oral medications if taken at the same time. It is generally advisable to take other medicines separately from Laxido. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Macrogol 3350 is not absorbed into the body, which means it is considered to have a low risk during pregnancy and breastfeeding. However, it should only be used under medical supervision during pregnancy, particularly for faecal impaction. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
There is no known interaction between Laxido Orange and alcohol. However, alcohol can contribute to dehydration, which may worsen constipation, so it is advisable to drink plenty of water and limit alcohol intake while treating constipation.
⸻
Driving and Operating Machinery
Laxido Orange is not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. It does not cause drowsiness or impair concentration. If you experience any unexpected side effects that affect your alertness, exercise caution.
⸻
