What is esomeprazole?
Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces stomach acid. It is used for acid reflux, heartburn and ulcers.
Brands and strengths
Esomeprazole is the name of the active ingredient. In the UK it is sold as generic esomeprazole and under brand names including Nexium, Emozul and Ventra — all contain the same active ingredient and work the same way. Common strengths:

How to take esomeprazole
