Daktarin Aktiv 2% Cream – 15gram

Daktarin Aktiv 2% Cream is an antifungal cream used to treat fungal skin infections such as athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), as well as associated bacterial infections. It helps to clear the infection and relieve symptoms such as itching, redness, and flaking skin.

How It Works

The active ingredient, miconazole nitrate, works by damaging the outer layer (cell membrane) of the fungal cells, which causes them to die. It also has some activity against certain bacteria that can infect the skin at the same time as a fungal infection, making it effective against mixed infections.

Directions for Use

Adults and children aged 12 years and over: Apply a thin layer of cream to the affected area and the surrounding skin twice daily (morning and evening). Continue treatment for at least 10 days and for up to 4 weeks if needed. Wash and dry the affected area thoroughly before applying the cream. Not recommended for children under 12 years without medical advice. Always read the patient information leaflet before use.

Possible Side Effects

• Skin irritation or burning sensation at the site of application
• Redness or rash at the application site
• Itching or stinging of the skin
• Allergic skin reactions (rare)

Who Should Not Use This Product

• People who are allergic to miconazole nitrate or any other ingredient in this cream
• People who are allergic to other imidazole antifungals (e.g. clotrimazole, ketoconazole)
• Children under 12 years of age (unless advised by a doctor)
• People with known sensitivity to any of the excipients in the formulation

Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
