Lemsip Max Cold & Flu Blackcurrant Powder Sachets are a hot drink remedy designed to relieve the symptoms of cold and flu, including headache, sore throat, blocked nose, aches and pains, and fever. Each sachet is dissolved in hot water to create a soothing blackcurrant-flavoured drink.

How It Works

This product contains three active ingredients that work together to tackle cold and flu symptoms. Paracetamol reduces pain and brings down a high temperature, phenylephrine hydrochloride acts as a decongestant to help clear a blocked nose by narrowing the blood vessels in the nasal passages, and caffeine helps to enhance the pain-relieving effect of paracetamol and may help reduce feelings of fatigue.

Directions for Use

Adults and young people aged 16 years and over: empty the contents of one sachet into a mug and add hot (not boiling) water, then stir well. One sachet may be taken every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Do not take more than 4 sachets in any 24-hour period. Leave at least 4 hours between doses. This product is not suitable for children under 16 years of age. Possible Side Effects

• Nausea or upset stomach
• Difficulty sleeping (due to caffeine content)
• Increased heart rate or palpitations
• Raised blood pressure
• Allergic reactions such as skin rash or itching
• Headache or dizziness

Who Should Not Use This Product

• Children under 16 years of age
• People who are allergic to paracetamol, phenylephrine, caffeine, or any other ingredient in the product
• People taking other paracetamol-containing medicines (risk of overdose)
• People taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or who have taken them in the last 14 days
• People with severe high blood pressure or severe heart disease
• People with an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism)
• People taking certain antidepressants or medicines for heart conditions — speak to your PillSorted pharmacist if you are unsure

Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
