Description
Panadol Period Pain 500mg/65mg – 14 Tablets
Panadol Period Pain tablets are specially formulated to relieve the pain and discomfort of period pain (menstrual cramps). They also help with other everyday aches and pains, including headaches, toothache, sore throat, and cold and flu symptoms.
⸻
How It Works
Each tablet contains two active ingredients that work together. Paracetamol helps to block pain signals in the brain and reduces fever. Caffeine is included as an adjuvant — it helps to enhance the pain-relieving effect of paracetamol, meaning you may feel relief more quickly and effectively.
⸻
Directions for Use
For adults and young people aged 16 and over: take 2 tablets up to 4 times a day as needed. Leave at least 4 hours between doses. Do not take more than 8 tablets (4 doses) in any 24-hour period. Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water. Do not give to children under 16 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.
⸻
Active Ingredients
• Paracetamol 500mg per tablet
• Caffeine 65mg per tablet
⸻
Possible Side Effects
Panadol Period Pain is generally well tolerated when taken as directed. Possible side effects may include:
• Skin rash or allergic reactions
• Nausea or stomach discomfort
• Difficulty sleeping or restlessness (due to caffeine content)
• In rare cases, serious skin reactions (e.g. redness, blistering, or peeling)
• Liver damage if the recommended dose is exceeded
If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.
⸻
Who Should Not Take This Medicine
Do not take Panadol Period Pain if you:
• Are allergic to paracetamol, caffeine, or any other ingredient in this product
• Are already taking other medicines containing paracetamol
• Have severe liver or kidney problems
• Are under 16 years of age
• Have a known sensitivity to caffeine or caffeine-containing products
• Have been advised to avoid caffeine by your doctor
⸻
Interactions
Paracetamol is found in many other medicines, including cold and flu remedies, so always check the ingredients of any other medicines you are taking to avoid accidental overdose. Caffeine may interact with some medicines including certain antibiotics (such as ciprofloxacin) and some medicines for heart conditions or anxiety. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Paracetamol is generally considered safe for use during pregnancy when taken at the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible time, but the caffeine content in these tablets means this product is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. A caffeine-free paracetamol product may be more suitable. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine. Combining paracetamol with alcohol — especially regular or heavy drinking — can increase the risk of serious liver damage. If you regularly drink alcohol, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist before taking this product.
⸻
Driving and Operating Machinery
Panadol Period Pain does not cause drowsiness, and paracetamol is not known to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, the caffeine content may cause restlessness or difficulty sleeping in some people. If you feel any unexpected effects, do not drive or operate heavy machinery.
⸻
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
