Ultra Chloraseptic Anaesthetic Throat Spray Cherry – 15ml
Ultra Chloraseptic Anaesthetic Throat Spray Cherry is a fast-acting throat spray designed to provide temporary relief from sore throat pain. It contains benzocaine, a local anaesthetic, and comes in a pleasant cherry flavour.
⸻
How It Works
The active ingredient benzocaine works by temporarily numbing the nerve endings in the lining of your throat. This reduces the sensation of pain and discomfort, making it easier to swallow and speak while your throat recovers.
⸻
Directions for Use
For adults and children aged 6 years and over: spray 3 times directly to the back of the throat. Repeat every 2 to 3 hours as needed, up to a maximum of 6 doses in 24 hours. This product is not suitable for children under 6 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.
⸻
Active Ingredients
• Benzocaine 0.71 mg per spray
⸻
Possible Side Effects
• Temporary numbness or tingling in the mouth or throat
• Localised skin or mucosal irritation at the site of application
• Allergic reactions such as rash, itching, or swelling (rare)
• Methemoglobinaemia (a serious blood disorder) — very rare but serious, particularly at high doses
If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.
⸻
Who Should Not Take This Medicine
• Children under 6 years of age
• People who are allergic to benzocaine or any other local anaesthetic of the ester type
• People who are allergic to any other ingredient in this product

• People with a history of methemoglobinaemia
⸻
Interactions
Ultra Chloraseptic Throat Spray is not known to interact significantly with most common medicines when used as directed. However, benzocaine may interact with certain medicines used to treat heart conditions or other local anaesthetics. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
The safety of benzocaine throat spray during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been fully established. It should only be used if considered necessary and for the shortest possible time. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
There are no known interactions between Ultra Chloraseptic Throat Spray and alcohol. However, alcohol may itself irritate a sore throat, so it is generally advisable to avoid alcohol while experiencing throat discomfort.
⸻
Driving and Operating Machinery
Ultra Chloraseptic Throat Spray is not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. The numbing effect is localised to the throat area and does not cause drowsiness or impair concentration.
⸻
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Do not freeze. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
