Deep Heat Pain Relief Spray is a topical analgesic spray designed to relieve muscular aches, pains, and stiffness. It is commonly used for backache, rheumatic pain, sciatica, lumbago, fibrositis, and sports-related muscle soreness.

How It Works

Deep Heat Pain Relief Spray contains methyl salicylate and ethyl nicotinate, which work together to produce a warming sensation when applied to the skin. These ingredients help increase blood flow to the affected area and act as a counter-irritant — distracting the nervous system from deeper pain signals and helping to ease discomfort in muscles and joints.

Directions for Use

For adults and children aged 12 and over, spray onto the affected area from a distance of approximately 15–20 cm. Hold the can upright and apply for 1–2 seconds. Use up to 3–4 times daily as needed. Do not apply to the same area more than 4 times in 24 hours. This product is not recommended for children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Possible Side Effects

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

• People who are allergic to methyl salicylate, ethyl nicotinate, aspirin, or any other ingredient in this product
• Children under 12 years of age
• People with broken, damaged, or inflamed skin
• People with known sensitivity to salicylates
• Do not apply near the eyes, mouth, or mucous membranes
• Do not use with tight bandages or heat pads over the treated area

Interactions

Deep Heat Pain Relief Spray is applied to the skin and is generally unlikely to cause significant interactions with other medicines when used as directed. However, methyl salicylate is absorbed through the skin and could potentially enhance the effects of anticoagulant medicines such as warfarin if used over large areas or frequently. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

The use of salicylate-containing products, including topical preparations, is generally not recommended during pregnancy — particularly in the third trimester — as salicylates can be absorbed through the skin. The safety of this product during breastfeeding has not been fully established. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

Alcohol

There is no known interaction between Deep Heat Pain Relief Spray and alcohol when used as a topical preparation at the recommended dose. This product is applied to the skin and is not taken orally, so alcohol is unlikely to affect how it works.

Driving and Operating Machinery

Deep Heat Pain Relief Spray is applied externally to the skin and is not expected to cause drowsiness or affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. If you experience any unexpected symptoms after use, exercise caution and seek advice from your PillSorted pharmacist.

Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. As this product is an aerosol, keep away from flames, sparks, and heat — do not expose to temperatures above 50°C or puncture the canister. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
