    Description

Nurofen for Children Strawberry 3 months to 12 years 100mg/5ml Oral Suspension – 200ml

Nurofen for Children Strawberry Oral Suspension is a medicine for children aged 3 months to 12 years, used to relieve mild to moderate pain and reduce fever. It is suitable for conditions such as teething pain, headaches, sore throats, earache, and symptoms associated with colds and flu.

    How It Works

The active ingredient, ibuprofen, belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by blocking the production of prostaglandins — natural chemicals in the body that cause pain, swelling, and fever — helping your child to feel more comfortable.

    Directions for Use

The suspension should be given by mouth using the measuring syringe or spoon provided. Doses are based on the child’s weight and age — refer to the dosing table in the patient information leaflet for the correct amount. As a general guide, the recommended dose is 5–10 mg of ibuprofen per kg of body weight, given up to three times in 24 hours. Leave at least 6–8 hours between doses and do not give more than three doses in 24 hours. Do not give to babies under 3 months of age, and do not use for more than 3 days without speaking to a doctor. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    • Children who have had a stomach ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding

    Interactions

Ibuprofen may interact with a number of other medicines, including aspirin, other NSAIDs, blood thinners (such as warfarin), corticosteroids, certain blood pressure medicines, diuretics, and some antidepressants. Combining ibuprofen with other medicines that affect the stomach or kidneys may increase the risk of side effects. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

This product is intended for use in children, not adults. However, ibuprofen is not recommended during pregnancy, especially from 20 weeks onwards, as it may harm the unborn baby. Ibuprofen passes into breast milk in small amounts and is generally considered unsuitable during breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

This product is intended for children and alcohol is not relevant to the child taking this medicine. The suspension itself contains a small amount of maltitol liquid but no alcohol. If you have concerns about any excipients, contact your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Nurofen for Children is unlikely to affect a child’s ability to take part in normal activities. In rare cases, dizziness may occur; if this happens, the child should rest until they feel better. This section is not applicable to the child’s carers in relation to this medicine.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Once opened, use within 6 months. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
